In just three years, Clark Construction’s Tampa, Fla., office and members of the local community have raised more than $65,000 via a car show benefiting Everyday Blessings. The nonprofit organization allows siblings who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, abandonment or neglect to stay together in a safe and stable environment and provides them with the support they need.

“It is, and has been for more than 100 years, Clark’s core belief to give back to the communities that we work in,” says Sidney Jordan, division president and CEO of Clark’s southern and northern regions. “We have been very fortunate to be in a position to help others with dollars and, more importantly, with our time. Many of our employees are long-time residents and want to make a difference and create a better environment for future generations.”

During its 2014 car show, Clark raised $25,000 through corporate donations, a silent auction, a raffle and personal donations. Local businesses donated items ranging from gift cards to a golf outing for four and a weekend getaway at a hotel.

The 2014 event brought the community together to showcase 150 classic cars that were judged in a variety of categories. About 20 employees from Clark’s Tampa office volunteered to work the event, bringing along their family and friends to help.

In addition to planning its fourth annual car show in 2015, the Tampa office is committed to giving back throughout the year with events such as food and toy drives.

“We have a wide range of charities that we support, each one with the passion of an employee being the champion of a deserving cause,” Jordan says. “This personal touch and dedication to each philanthropic effort are keys to giving back to our community.”
