STEP Platinum recipients receive additional benefits for their safety achievements, including a specially-framed certificate of recognition and automatic eligibility for the prestigious ABC National Safety Excellence Awards competition.
To apply for STEP Platinum, a member company must:
- have received STEP Gold or Platinum the previous year
- have a total recordable incident rate that is equal to or below the industry average in one of the past three years
- submit their official OSHA 300A summary log
- submit an "Insurer Support Statement" from the member's insurance company that supports the company's STEP self-evaluation score (found inside the STEP application packet)
- submit a $165 application and processing/evaluation fee
STEP applications are accepted throughout the year. However, if you wish to receive your STEP certificate at your local ABC chapter's Safety Awards ceremony, please submit you STEP application to your local chapter no later than February 27, 2009.
