To apply for STEP Diamond, a member company must: 

• have a total recordable incident rate at least 50% below their NAICS code industry average in each of the past three years (companies under 100 employees may use a 3-year average); 
• maintain an Experience Modification Rate (EMR, or "Mod Factor") of 0.700 (0.800 for companies with less than 100 employees);
• submit their official OSHA Form 300 and OSHA Form 300A for the previous three years;
• have not suffered a fatality that resulted in an OSHA citation in any of the previous three years;
• meet the minimum 20 Key Components score; and
• submit a $395 application and processing/evaluation fee (note: the application fee is only refundable if the applicant does not qualify for STEP Diamond based on 20 Key Components score)

To apply for STEP Platinum, a member company must:

• have a total recordable incident rate at least 25% below their NAICS code industry average in the past year; 
• maintain an Experience Modification Rate (EMR, or "Mod Factor") of 0.800 (0.900 for companies with less than 100 employees);
• submit their official OSHA Form 300 and OSHA Form 300A for the previous year;
• have not suffered a fatality that resulted in an OSHA citation in any of the previous 3 years;
• meet the minimum 20 Key Components score; and
• submit a $195 application and processing/evaluation fee (note: the application fee is only refundable if the applicant does not qualify for STEP Platinum based on 20 Key Components score)

STEP applications are accepted throughout the year.  We encourage all ABC contractor members to take advantage of this unique resource and apply today!  However, in order to guarantee recognition at your local ABC chapter, please submit your completed STEP application to your chapter by their deadline.  Chapter deadlines can be located here.
