Registration is still open for the 2014 Workforce Development Conference being held April 29-May 2, in Birmingham, Ala., which will feature education sessions spanning six topics, keynote speakers, networking receptions and the National Craft Championships. The variety of education sessions offered are designed for electrical and mechanical contractors, safety professionals, education and membership professionals and young professionals looking to expand their skillsets.

In addition, the National Craft Championships will welcome more than 160 craft trainees and apprentices from all over the country to Birmingham as they compete to be named the best in their craft. Each competitor answered a few questions about their journey into the industry and advice for others who are entering into a career in construction. The conference also will feature an Expo with more than 30 exhibitors, two hands-on safety demos, crane operation and welding simulators, and an ABC Project Virtual BIM learning lab.
