Contractors Required to Post Injury and Illness Log Summaries

ABC is reminding its contractor member firms that Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 300A log summaries must be posted in a conspicuous spot on all construction sites Feb. 1 through April 20.

The summaries, which are a yearly OSHA requirement, list the total number of job-related injuries and illnesses that occurred in 2012 and were logged on the employer's OSHA 300A form. Employment information about the average number of employees and total hours worked during the calendar year is also required. Companies with no recordable injuries or illnesses in 2012 must post the form with zeros on the total line.

All summaries must be certified by a company executive and displayed in a common area where notices to employees are typically posted. Click here to check if your firm is required to post a summary and here to download copies of the OSHA 300A form.

In addition, ABC is asking members to complete a survey using the data from their Form 300A. That survey is available here: http://www.abc.org/en-us/safety/osha300asurvey.aspx
