Possess strong verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively up and down within the organization and on the job site
Be able to write clearly and effectively communicate to all parties involved in the construction process
Must be able to listen to subordinates and supervisors, correctly interpret their comments, and act on them in an appropriate manner
Clearly communicate daily work assignments as well as comprehensive plan for project completion
Make accurate decisions in a timely manner to maximize productivity on the job site
Effectively communicate expectations for time allotments to each subordinate on each phase of the project
Clearly delegate job assignments to avoid misunderstanding and wasted time
Possess superior negotiations skills and be able to successfully resolve complications

Project Supervision for Superintendents and Site Managers

Implement the most cost effective and labor efficient schedule possible
Be aware of the cost of rework and monitor employees work to maintain the highest level of quality control possible
Be familiar with the 16 divisions of the construction process and be able to interpret blue prints for all 16
Maintain a close watch on materials, labor costs, time, and rework to maximize cost control
Stay fully aware of construction schedules for the total project and maintain productivity in all areas under your control
Be familiar with the project contract and administer the project accordingly
Be thoroughly familiar with the details of the estimating process
Possess computer skills adequate to the successful utilization of word processing, computer aided drafting, and computer estimating programs
Review cost reports and report any recommendations for job changes or change orders
Visualize the plan to put work in place from the blue print and report any anticipated variances to the original estimate
Manage human relations issues on the job site in a positive manner
