Webinar Description:

On June 24, 2010, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued a proposal, known as an “Exposure Draft,” on revenue recognition rules that would significantly impact contractors’ financial statements and the professionals who use them.

In this webinar, co-hosted by ABC and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), you’ll learn about how FASB is attempting to unify the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the framework that dictates how financial statements are prepared in the United States, with the International Standards.

However, some construction financial professionals argue that the proposal will reduce the standardization of methodologies, increase complexity, add costs, and result in a financial statement that does not meet the needs of users, such as bankers and sureties.

Get a detailed look at FASB’s proposal and its impact on your construction company. Specifically, you’ll find out how to provide substantive comments and feedback to FASB on how this potential revenue recognition standard will impact your construction company and other users of your financial statements.
