FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA., March 3
– Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today announced that it has awarded National Diversity Excellence Awards to four member companies: Hensel Phelps, Wu & Associates Inc., Mechanical Engineering & Construction Corp. and United Rentals Inc. Representatives from each company received the award on March 2 during ABC’s 26th annual Excellence in Construction® Awards in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The ABC National Diversity Excellence Awards program recognizes members that display exemplary diversity leadership in their workforce, supply chain and community with best-in-class recruitment policies, retention practices, and training and mentoring programs.
Awards are given out in four categories:
General Contractor Over $33 million: Hensel Phelps, Greeley, Colo.
General Contractor Under $33 million: Wu & Associates, Inc., Mount Laurel, N.J.
Subcontractor: Mechanical Engineering & Construction Corp. (MEC2), Catonsville, Md.
Supplier & Associate: United Rentals, Inc., Stamford, Conn.
