Court Suspends Appeal of Ambush Elections Rule

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit Feb. 19 issued an order of abeyance on an appeal of the NLRB controversial “ambush” elections rule by the ABC-led Coalition for a Democratic Workplace. The order suspends consideration of the appeal “pending further order of the court.”

Bill Requires DOL to Meet Hiring Goals Before Imposing Them on Contractors

Rep. Rodney Alexander (R-La.) Feb. 15 introduced a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, The Equal Standards in Hiring Americans Act (H.R. 759), that would require the Department of Labor (DOL) to meet the same goal for hiring disabled workers it is trying to impose on federal contractors. Massachusetts Court Overturns Discriminatory Responsible Employer Ordinance

Bill Introduced to Require Statistical Calculation of Davis-Bacon Wages

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) Feb. 1 introduced the Responsibility in Federal Contracting Act (H.R. 448), which would require prevailing wage rates to be scientifically determined by the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Contractors Required to Post Injury and Illness Log Summaries

ABC is reminding its contractor member firms that OSHA 300A log summaries must be posted in a conspicuous spot on all construction sites Feb. 1 through April 20.
