Members of the public can create an account with the International Code Council (ICC) and submit proposals for changes to the International Green Construction Code (IgCC) until Jan. 10. Any proposal submitted will be posted online by March 2014 to be reviewed by the public and heard by two technical committees in open hearings.

The IgCC, an effort between the International Code Council, the USGBC, the American Institute of Architects, ASTM International, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, and the Illuminating Engineering Society, administers code to be adopted by local governments to be used as the basis for green building regulations related to energy conservation, water efficiency, building owner responsibilities and more.

The results of the hearings addressing public proposals will be posted online and open for additional comments and then voted on to make up the final 2013 IgCC document.
