Associated Builders and Contractor’s (ABC) 2014 Workforce Development Conference is now open for registration. The conference, held April 29-May 2 in Birmingham, Ala., features more than 40 sessions covering a range of topics including project management, safety, workforce development, productivity and association management.

This year’s Workforce Development Conference will offer educational sessions covering topics such as an introduction to lean construction, building your business with social media, completing projects profitably and efficiently, tips for leadership growth and more.

The conference also offers a wide range of opportunities for ABC chapter staff to take part in association management training and networking.

In addition, two keynote speakers will address attendees at the conference to discuss trends in workforce development. Mark Perna, Founder/Author of Tools for Schools, has worked to help schools and statewide organizations to experience significant gains in enrollment, retention, and community awareness and will kick off the conference as the opening speaker. Comedic motivational speaker, Charles Marshall, will close out the conference as the second keynote.

Attendees of the Workforce Development Conference will also get to watch as more than 150 craft professionals compete to be named the best in their craft at the 2014 National Craft Championships. Representing companies and ABC chapters from all over the country, the competitors demonstrate a commitment to the career paths the construction industry offers.
