Building America: The Merit Shop Scorecard

WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 21– Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today released its annual update to “Building America: The Merit Shop Scorecard,” which reviews and grades state-specific policies and information significant to the success of the commercial and industrial construction industry. The scorecard highlights states that have created a free enterprise-based environment where merit shop contractors are well positioned to succeed and calls attention to states where strategic improvements need to be made.

ABC Announces 2016 Young Professional of the Year Finalists

WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 26 – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) continued its celebration of Careers in Construction Month today by announcing three finalists for its annual Young Professional of the Year Award. Finalists were chosen based on their career achievement, leadership and vision for the future of the commercial and industrial construction industry from a field of more than 30 nominations representing 20 ABC chapters across the country.

ABC Celebrates Careers in Construction Month

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is celebrating Careers in Construction
Month this October by recognizing the investment its members and chapters make each year to attract and train the construction workers of the future. ABC member firms spend $1.1 billion on workforce development and train approximately 476,000 construction industry professionals annually.

ABC’s Trimmer Foundation Awards Scholarships to Merit Shop Construction Students

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced the first 10 winners of the Build Your Future Scholarship through ABC’s Trimmer Construction Education Foundation (TCEF). The scholarships are awarded to the top 10 students attending an NCCER-accredited program or a state/federally approved apprenticeship program in a merit-shop training facility. The scholarships are funded through a pledge of $100,000 from NCCER over the next five years.

Nearly 200 Top Craft Trainees to Compete at ABC’s National Craft Championships
