OSHA Proposes Revisions to Reporting Requirements; Launches Recordkeeping Website

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) June 22 issued a proposed rule that would expand its injury and illness tracking and reporting requirements. 

ABC Member Says Davis-Bacon is "Fatally Flawed" and Calls for Repeal

ABC member Thomas Mistick April 14 told the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Workforce Protections that the Department of Labor (DOL) fails at administering the Davis-Bacon Act and that the law is “fatally flawed,” echoing the findings of an April 6 report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The hearing was titled, “Examining the Department of Labor's Implementation of the Davis-Bacon Act.”

OSHA Reporting Proposal Needs Critical Assessment Before Implementation

OSHA should consider the unintended consequences of a proposed revision to its injury and illness tracking and reporting requirements before issuing the final rule, ABC wrote in a set of comments submitted to the agency Oct. 28. 

ABC Opposes Changes to OSHA On-site Consultation Program

ABC, in conjunction with the Coalition for Workplace Safety, filed comments with OSHA opposing a proposed rule that will change how the agency will operate its On-site Consultation Program for all worksites, including those that have Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program status.  ABC also filed its own set of comments focusing on the direct impact this proposed rule would have on the construction industry.
