ABC Craft Professional of the Year Takes Home a Brand-new Ram Truck

A brand-new 2016 Ram Tradesman Crew Cab truck was presented to ABC Craft Professional of the Year Scott Walters at an event in Grand Rapids, Mich. Scott, a carpentry superintendent at Dan Vos Construction Co., was awarded the truck courtesy of the award sponsor, Tradesmen International, with custom upgrades donated by FCA US.  Read the rest of entry »

Nine in Ten Workforce Week ’16 Attendees Surveyed Plan to Attend Next Year

ABC Workforce Week ’16 attracted well over 500 attendees, with 55 educational sessions, 50+ exhibitors and plenty of excitement. Surveyed shortly after the conference, 91 percent said they planned on returning next year. Highlights included the ABC Innovation Theater, where attendees got a chance to see into future of the construction industry with the latest in software technology, a live exoskeleton demonstration and drone display. The FaverGray Company Earns AQC Designation

The FaverGray Company of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., a member of ABC’s Florida First Coast chapter, has been awarded Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC) status by ABC. Help Judge the National Craft Championships

Save the date and support the competitors of the 2016 National Craft Championships by volunteering to serve as a judge. All judges must be an ABC member and have a demonstrated expertise in one of the designated crafts. Judges are required to be onsite in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 3, and are invited to see the winners revealed at the Careers in Construction Awards ceremony on Friday, March 4.  Read the rest of entry »

University of Cincinnati, Shon Smith of ACI Mechanical Win Future Leaders Awards

Shon Smith, prefabrication manager with ACI Mechanical from ABC’s Iowa Chapter, won ABC’s first Young Professional of the Year Award, and the University of Cincinnati won both the 2015 Construction Management Competition and the 2015 ABC Student Chapter of the Year Award.
