2008 ABC Alabama chapter Chairman John Conner died Aug. 16 in Birmingham, Ala., after a three-year battle with cancer.
“John consistently wanted to give back to the industry in which he worked,” said Jay Reed, president of ABC’s Alabama chapter. “ABC is truly a better association due to his dedication and involvement. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his wife and three daughters for their loss.”
Conner, senior vice president and chief financial officer for Robins & Morton in Birmingham Ala., was involved with ABC for more than 12 years. He was also an active participant in his community, having been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham and serving on the United Way Leadership Campaign.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Cancer Association, 1988 Momentum Place, Chicago, Ill., 60689, or to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 3736 Montrose Road, Birmingham, Ala., 35213.
