ABC has awarded Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC) status to JFK Electrical Contracting, Gilbert, Ariz., a member of ABC’s Arizona Builders Alliance and Teague Electric Construction, Lenexa, Kan., a member of ABC’s Heart of America chapter.
The AQC program was launched in 1993 to publicly recognize and honor construction firms that have documented their commitment in four key areas of corporate responsibility: safety, employee benefits, training and community relations. A company that meets the strict criteria set forth in the program is formally designated an “Accredited Quality Contractor” by ABC.
In addition to national and local recognition and promotion, accredited contractors are allowed to use the AQC designation in bid documents, as well as on letterhead, business cards, brochures and jobsite signs. AQC members may also use the program as a human resources tool by featuring the AQC designation in job advertisements, including it as part of the employee handbook and using it to develop benchmarks in quality, safety, education, employee benefits, industry image and community activities.
