ABC’s National Craft Championships is seeking donations to help buy materials for this year’s participants who will be competing April 24-27 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio. Visit the
National Craft Championship website to donate now.
Donations in any amount will help make this competition a success. For example, $10 provides enough PVC pipe for one HVAC competitor; $50 provides all of the sheet metal stock for one sheet metal competitor; $100 provides all of the hole saws required for one fire sprinkler competitor; and $250 provides all the materials needed by one insulation competitor.
The craft competitions include: residential/commercial carpentry, residential/commercial electrical, commercial/industrial electrical, fire sprinkler, HVAC, insulation, millwright/industrial maintenance mechanic, pipefitting, plumbing, sheet metal, pipe welding and structural welding. Top finishers in each category will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals as well as cash and industry prizes.
Donations are made to the Trimmer Construction Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, which will your use your tax-deductible contribution to make the 2012 National Craft Championships even more memorable for the participants. Those who contribute more than $100 will be listed in the Construction Careers magazine, in the Construction Careers Awards Breakfast program and on ABC's website. To donate more than $2,000, contact
trimmer@abc.org.
In addition, ABC is still accepting “
Intent to Compete” forms for members and chapters interesting in participating in the contest. Actual competitors must be registered no later than March 5.
