WASHINGTON, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today joined the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) in announcing an agreement that will allow both organizations’ conference attendees full access to both trade shows on March 17. The trade shows are being held at the Las Vegas Convention Center at the same time. Additionally, open access will be provided to ABC’s National Craft Championships competition.

ABC’s 2006 National Craft Championships and the Construction Showcase will be held at the convention center March 16-17 while the association’s annual convention will be held at the nearby Wynn Las Vegas resort March 15-19. NSCA’s Systems Integration Expo is at the convention center March 14-18.

“The ABC National Convention encourages networking and information sharing,” said Kirk Pickerel, ABC president and CEO. “The concurrent events will provide ABC members a strategic opportunity to learn more about electronic systems integration. The exchange date will give added program value to all who participate,” Pickerel said.

“The cross-promotion of the NSCA and ABC events will provide an excellent opportunity for general contractors and systems integrators to learn more about the project challenges each confronts,” said Chuck Wilson, NSCA executive director. “We invite the attendees to take advantage of this occasion to learn about these increasingly interrelated industries.”

On March 17, NSCA Expo badge-holders will be admitted to both ABC’s Construction Showcase and the National Craft Championships. Likewise, ABC convention attendees can tour the NSCA Expo. Further details will be available at on-site registration.

The ABC National Convention provides networking opportunities, educational seminars and awards programs. The convention also hosts the annual National Craft Championships competition, which shares the exhibit floor of the ABC Construction Showcase. The competition, celebrating its 20th anniversary, features the nation’s most skilled craftworkers competing in different craft trades. The competition has become one of the annual convention’s highlights.

The NSCA Systems Integration Expo offers a full range of seminars for commercial electronic systems designers and installers and features 600 exhibits of the latest technology in audio/visual, access control, acoustics, control systems, data, digital signage, security/life safety, lighting, telephony, sound and video.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national association representing 23,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms in 79 chapters across the United States.

National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) is the leading not-for-profit association representing the commercial electronic systems industry. With more than 2,500 member companies worldwide, NSCA is a powerful advocate of all who work within the low-voltage industry, including systems contractors/integrators, product manufacturers, consultants, sales representatives, architects, specifying engineers and other allied professionals.
