WASHINGTON, D.C.Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today announced that Todd S. Mann has joined the association as its chief operating officer. Mann, a certified association executive, will have full oversight responsibility for ABC’s financial, administrative and program activities. In addition, he will oversee its operational divisions and serve as the chief internal advocate for ABC national and chapter staff.

“Mann offers proven leadership skills along with an impressive track record in association and private industry management,” said Kirk Pickerel, ABC president and CEO. “We are very excited to have Todd in this key position as ABC continues to lead the merit shop construction industry.”

Before joining ABC, Mann served as senior vice president of business development for the National Restaurant Association in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for increasing revenue, directing membership, business partnerships and sponsorship fundraising. In the mid 1980s, he started a national trend when he helped launch a company that created the concept of placing full-service bank branches inside supermarkets.  Mann started his career on Capitol Hill working for then Chairman of the House Republican Conference, John B. Anderson of Rockford, Ill.

Mann has a bachelor of arts degree in Russian Studies from Vassar College, where he has also served as a trustee.
