Washington, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today announced that Doug Curtis has been promoted to vice president of chapter services, a new position at the association. Since 1999, Curtis has served as ABC’s director of chapter development. In his new position, Curtis will be responsible for the creation and delivery of programs and services to assist ABC’s 79 chapters in reaching the highest levels of performance in terms of membership growth and professional development.
“With this appointment, Doug is being recognized for his excellent service in the chapter relations area over the past 10 years,” said ABC President and CEO Kirk Pickerel. “He is perfectly positioned to take on these new challenges and responsibilities.”
In his previous position, Curtis was charged with the development of programs to educate, train and support ABC’s chapters to encourage membership program development and membership growth. Before joining ABC, Curtis was director of member services at the American Traffic Safety Services Association from 1994 to 1999 and national account manager with Experian from 1987 to 1993. He previously worked at the Republican National Committee in Washington, D.C., was executive director of the Maine Republican Party and served in the Maine House of Representatives from 1980 to 1984.
Curtis is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine, with a B.A. in political science and an A.S. in business administration.
