The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) are soliciting comments from the construction community about the potential use of a government-mandated project labor agreement (PLA) on federal construction projects in Texas and Maryland.
ABC members should
submit comments to the USACE Ft. Worth District on the contract to renovate the VOLAR Barracks and Central Energy Plant in Fort Hood, Texas via e-mail to Andrew J. Nelson, Contract Specialist,
[email protected] by Friday, Dec. 6.
Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Washington is
requesting responses on the mechanical and electrical improvements to the new medical center addition at Naval Support Activity (NSA) in Bethesda, Md.
Please submit responses via email to Stephen Astwood at
[email protected] and to Donald White at
[email protected] no later than 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
All ABC members and construction professionals are encouraged to respond to the request for information. Tell NAVFAC and the USACEthat government-mandated PLAs decrease competition, increase costs, and harm economy and efficiency in government contracting.
ABC National has taken the opportunity to respond to all PLA surveys as they are issued and encourages its members to do the same. For assistance with responding to these surveys, contact ABC’s Director of Federal Procurement and Labor Affairs Ben Brubeck,
