About the Presenters
Matthew Abeles is ABC’s vice president of construction technology and innovation, spearheading efforts to integrate construction technology and innovation into all aspects of ABC’s strategic initiatives, particularly total human health, world-class safety and workforce development. Previously, Abeles advised and raised capital for construction technology companies and was a co-founder of BuiltWorlds, a media company and digital network for construction, real estate, finance and development leaders, which hosts global events and produces industry research.
Philip Gordon chairs the Privacy and Background Checks Practice Group of Littler Mendelson, the nation’s largest law firm representing only management in employment law matters. He counsels employers on workplace privacy and data protection issues, including background checks; monitoring employees’ electronic communications; regulating employees’ social media; developing “bring-your-own-device” programs; compliance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation and other global data protection laws; HIPAA compliance; and security incident preparedness and response.
As an operations manager with Hensel Phelps, Todd Temple has more than 29 years of construction experience, with a focus on aviation. He plays a key role in the successful completion of challenging airport projects throughout the country, and is currently leading the design-build effort on the $1.3B Harvey Milk Terminal 1 project at San Francisco International Airport. Temple works to bring new technology into the construction field, making jobsites safer and more efficient.
