ABC Names the 2020 Young Professional of the Year

WASHINGTON, May 19—Associated Builders and Contractors today announced Brandon Mabile, business development manager, Performance Contractors, Houston, received ABC’s 2020 Young Professional of the Year Award. Mabile will be honored during the Careers in Construction Awards at ABC Convention 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 19.

The Young Professional of the Year is chosen based on career achievement, leadership and vision for the future of the commercial and industrial construction industry. Mabile was selected from more than 70 applicants from around the country.

“Brandon has already made significant contributions to the merit shop construction industry on the local and national level,” said 2020 ABC National Chair Tim Keating, owner and president of R.C. Stevens Construction Co., Winter Garden, Florida. “His passion to helping ABC members develop people, win work and delivery that work safety, ethically and profitably is clear from his past performance and future professional goals, and we’re excited for his continued leadership of ABC on a chapter and national level.”

Mabile currently chairs ABC National’s Free Enterprise Alliance and has been involved in a number of other chapter and national committees. He is also the immediate past chair of the ABC Greater Houston Chapter. In his role at Performance Contractors and ABC, Mabile is dedicated to promoting technical education opportunities and careers in construction, especially among women and people typically underrepresented in the construction sector.

ABC’s Young Professionals group aims to shape the future of our industry by supporting the growth of professionals under the age of 40 who are employed by ABC member companies. The group is sponsored by Autodesk Construction Cloud, which combines advanced technology, a unique builders network and predictive insights to connect people and data across the entire building lifecycle. As Young Professional of the Year, Mabile received a $10,000 cash prize and will be featured in the June issue of Construction Executive magazine.

The Young Professional of the Year Award is one of numerous ABC award programs that promote lifelong learning and achievement at every level of the construction industry. Learn more about ABC’s commitment to workforce development at workforce.abc.org.
