The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) are requesting comments from the construction industry about the potential use of government-mandated project labor agreements (PLAs) on two large-scale federal projects in Maryland and California.

NAVFAC has issued a survey about the use of a PLA on an Electrical Capacity and Cooling Towers project at Naval Support Activity, Bethesda, Md. Responses should be submitted via email to Nola Campbell at [email protected] and to Donald White at [email protected] by 2 p.m. (EST) on Dec. 11. 

USACE would like feedback from the construction industry about a fuel storage system replacement project located at Edwards Air Force Base in Kern County, California. Learn more about the project and survey questions here. Responses should be sent to Lucia A. Carvajal at [email protected] by 2 p.m. (PST) on Jan. 9.

All ABC members and construction professionals are encouraged to respond to the request for information. Tell NAVFAC and USACE that government-mandated PLAs harm competition, increase costs, and impede the economy and efficiency of government contracting.
