WalMart, Dow and Balfour Beatty Executives Offer Insights at BizCon

ABC members that attend BizCon, Feb. 19-20 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., will gain insights from high-level executives at national companies, including WaMart, Dow, Balfour Beatty, and Cushman & Wakefield/Commerce, among others. These leaders will comprise five dynamic panels designed to help attendees position their businesses to proactively take advantage of emerging markets and upcoming trends.

Executives from WalMart Stores, Inc., Dow Chemical, The AES Corporation and the Hospital Corporation of America, who collectively have more than $20 billion in construction projects in their pipelines, make up BizCon’s Major Construction Users panel and will talk about what drives their capital spending decisions and improvement opportunities, and priorities they see for the construction industry, among other topics.

To offer perspectives on the real estate finance, investment and the development process, BizCon will feature leaders from Capstone Development Partners, LLC, Hammes Company Healthcare, Campus Crest Communities and other regional financial and development companies. These panelists will discuss the criteria lenders are looking at before investing in and/or financing new projects, and how construction leaders can successfully navigate the development process.

BizCon’s Trends in Major Land Development panel includes speakers from Cushman & Wakefield/Commerce, Robert Charles Lesser & Co., and regional developers who will talk about national demographics, real estate transactions and development so attendees can better determine the next investments for their businesses.

In addition, the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships executive director will serve as the moderator for panelists from Balfour Beatty Construction, a smaller construction firm and a P3 financing firm to show attendees how they can successfully participate in P3s.
