With cases of melanoma on the rise, construction workers who spend the majority of their time working outside without sun protection are at risk. Melanoma does not discriminate by age, race or gender.
DID YOU KNOW?
- Every eight minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with melanoma. Every hour of every day, someone will die from this disease.
- This year over 144,000 Americans are expected to be diagnosed with melanoma.
- The lifetime risk of getting melanoma is about 1 in 40 for Caucasians, 1 in 200 for Hispanics and 1 in 1,000 of African Americans.
- Melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young adults aged 25-29.
