The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has issued two surveys soliciting comments from the construction industry on the potential use of a project labor agreement (PLA) for projects in Fort Greely, Alaska and the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

Comments on the design-build Mechanical-Electrical Building in Alaska must be submitted to Laura Sheldon at [email protected] no later than Oct. 1, 2013. To read more about the project and to respond to the survey, click here.

Responses to the PLA survey for the Dormitory Complex at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada are due by Oct. 4, 2013. Comments can be sent to Otse Adikhai at [email protected]

All ABC members and construction professionals are encouraged to respond to the request for information and tell USACE that government-mandated PLAs harm competition, increase costs, and impede the economy and efficiency of government contracting.

ABC National has taken the opportunity to respond to all PLA surveys as they are issued and encourages its members to do the same. For assistance with responding to the survey, contact ABC’s Director of Federal Procurement and Labor Affairs Ben Brubeck, [email protected].
