ABC of Michigan praised the state’s legislature for passing language that will deter public universities from engaging in unionizing activities by requiring neutrality as a part of the 2014/2015 Higher Education budget recommendation which is expected to receive final legislative approval.

The addition to the budget plan was seen as a victory for ABC of Michigan which pushed for a legislative response to Michigan State University’s decision to operate the AFL-CIO’s Building Trades Academy on their campus.

“The classrooms of public universities should not be sites where union officials plan efforts to infiltrate private companies,” says Chris Fisher, ABC of Michigan president/CEO. “It’s not an appropriate use of taxpayer funds.”

ABC of Michigan’s full response can be seen in their press release.
