WEBINAR DESCRIPTION
The importance of a tight building envelope in regards to overall energy efficiency and occupant comfort is well established by agencies and organizations such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Department of Defense (DoD), American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and many others.

Designing and constructing a tight building envelope is just as important as the proper design and construction of the building’s mechanical systems.  Often times, the mechanical systems get blamed for occupant comfort issues, when in reality, a poor building envelope could be the real culprit.  The performance of a mechanical system is limited to the performance of the building envelope.  Because of this limitation, it is just as important to commission the building envelope system as it is to commission the mechanical systems.

This webinar will focus on the overall building envelope commissioning process.  Topics will include considerations during design reviews, what to look for during site visits, and describe how functional testing is performed on building envelopes.

THIS WEBINAR IS DESIGNED TO:
  • Explain what building envelope commissioning is
  • Describe the benefits/downfalls of the building envelope
  • Identify common areas of concern that are usually overlooked in the building envelope
  • Explain how functional testing is performed on building envelopes
