Sending letters to Congress and other government agencies allows ABC to publically advocate the views and interests of our members. These letters are welcomed and often sought because of the respected and influential voice of ABC Government Affairs.

On Jan. 18, ABC sent a letter to Congressional leadership to express our concerns with the implementation of the health insurance tax (HIT) for 2018 and the need to protect small businesses and their employees from the harmful and costly impact of this tax.

While supportive of the one year suspension of HIT for 2019 as a part of the Extension of Continuing Appropriations Act, ABC urged Congress to act swiftly to provide relief from this ill-advised policy for 2018.

On Dec. 19, ABC sent a letter to the U.S. House of Representatives expressing support for H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. ABC strongly urged representatives to support for the bill, as it will be considered a "KEY VOTE" on the 115th Congressional Scorecard.

On Nov. 6, ABC sent a letter to the U.S. Senate expressing strong support for the nomination of Peter Robb to serve as General Counsel to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). ABC urged Senators to vote “yes” to confirm Peter Robb, and considered this a key vote for the 115th Congressional Scorecard.
