Sending letters to Congress and other government agencies allows ABC to publically advocate the views and interests of our members. These letters are welcomed and often sought because of the respected and influential voice of ABC Government Affairs.

On Oct. 4, ABC sent a letter to U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce Chairwoman Virginia Foxx and Ranking Member Bobby Scott, thanking them for holding a markup on H.R. 3441, the Save Local Business Act.

On October 2nd, ABC sent a letter to Senate Budget Committee Chairman Mike Enzi in support of the Senate’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 Budget Resolution and the upcoming markup of this crucial budget resolution in the Senate Committee on the Budget.

On Sept. 22, ABC sent a letter to the United States Senate in strong support of the confirmation of William Emanuel to serve on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). ABC considered this vote a "KEY VOTE" on our 115th Congressional Scorecard.

On Sept. 12, ABC sent a letter to Subcommittee Chairmen Bradley Byrne and Tim Walberg thanking them for introducing H.R. 3441, the Save Local Business Act, and applauding them for calling a joint hearing on this important legislation. H.R. 3441 will help restore the “joint employer” standard that has been in place for more than 30 years and bring stability back into the economy for contractors and subcontractors across the country. ABC urged the Committee on Education and the Workforce to swiftly report the bill out of committee so it can be brought to the floor of the House of Representatives.

On Sept. 13, ABC sent a letter to the House of Representatives supporting Amendment #173 offered by Reps. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) and Scott Perry (R-Pa.) to the Make America Secure and Prosperous Appropriations Act (H.R. 3354). This amendment would prohibit funds from being used to enforce the National Labor Relations Board’s controversial “ambush election” rule. ABC strongly urgeed support for this amendment, and will considered this a “KEY VOTE” for our scorecard on the 115th Congress.
