Diane Koester-Byron

Diane Koester-Byron, founder and majority owner of I.E. - Pacific Inc., Escondido, California, began her term as Pacific* region vice chair of Associated Builders and Contractors in 2017. She is also on the board of the Associated General Contractors' San Diego chapter.

Koester-Byron built IE-Pacific into one of the most successful San Diego construction firms in topping $30 million in revenue, making it the third largest-women owned business in San Diego county in 2019, according to the San Diego Business Journal. IEP's federal construction and design-build projects can be seen throughout California and have garnered numerous awards, including ABC Excellence in Construction(R) and ABC National Safety Excellence awards.

Active in her community and abroad, Koester-Byron is a board member for the Academy of Our Lady of Peace and has been the major sponsor of academy’s annual Women Symposium – which promotes women in STEM opportunities—for the past five years. Koester-Byron also supports FANLAP in La Paz, Mexico, which provides help for children of impoverished families to further their education.

Koester-Byron earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1981 from Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly the University of Missouri-Rolla).
