Key Responsibilities:

Professional Development:

  • Craft innovative and impactful professional development programs tailored to the needs of the ABC commercial construction industry.
  • Spearhead the development of an annual professional development budget, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Implement strategic marketing initiatives to promote courses, utilizing various channels such as email, newsletters, direct mail, and personal visits.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate course effectiveness and continuously enhance program offerings.
  • Foster partnerships with external organizations to enrich the professional development landscape.
  • Act as a reliable resource for individual members seeking information or assistance related to professional development.

Apprenticeship:

  • Take a leadership role in expanding and enhancing our apprenticeship program, driving its success and ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Develop and manage the annual apprenticeship budget, maintaining financial responsibility and accountability.
  • Recruit, evaluate, and train top-tier instructors, establishing a reserve pool for future needs.
  • Conduct regular, hands-on monitoring of classes in various trades, ensuring program excellence.
  • Maintain compliance with NCCER standards, overseeing certification processes and liaising with DOL and state agencies.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with education partners, community colleges, and workforce boards to foster apprenticeship recruitment.
  • Proactively seek and administer grant opportunities to further enhance apprenticeship operations.

Safety:

  • Assume a pivotal role as the primary point of contact for safety initiatives within the Chapter.
  • Develop and manage the annual safety budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to drive safety excellence.
  • Champion the ABC STEP program, actively promoting and administering safety initiatives to raise awareness and participation.
  • Drive annual increases in STEP participation through strategic initiatives and outreach.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and legislative developments, advocating for construction safety as needed.
  • Share regular reports on safety initiatives and achievements at monthly board meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in developing and managing workforce development, apprenticeship, and safety programs.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development and management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and legislative changes.
