WASHINGTON, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is celebrating Careers in Construction
Month this October by recognizing the investment its members and chapters make each year to attract and train the construction workers of the future. ABC member firms spend $1.1 billion on workforce development and train approximately 476,000 construction industry professionals annually.

ABC Congratulates 2015 National Craft Championships Winners, Craft Instructor and Craft Professional of the Year

Washington, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced the winners of its National Craft Championships and named its Craft Instructor of the Year and Craft Professional of the Year during the Careers in Construction awards ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The ceremony took place March 6 at the conclusion of ABC’s Workforce Development Conference.

ABC Asks President to Withdraw “Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces” Executive Order

Washington, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), along with 19 other business trade groups, requested that President Obama withdraw the “Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces” Executive Order (E.O. 13673) in a letter addressed to U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Secretary Thomas Perez and Assistant to the President and Director of the Domestic Policy Council Cecilia Muñoz. 

ABC and CNA to Focus on Key Safety Themes During 3rd Year of Strategic Partnership

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and CNA today announced that during their third year as strategic partners, the groups will collaborate on driving the construction industry toward world class safety by targeting specific safety issues each quarter. Their outreach and education efforts will include webinars and CNA safety resources for ABC members to use to promote workplace safety industry-wide. 

Associated Builders and Contractors Files Suit Against OFCCP Rule

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today filed a request for an injunction in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against an Aug. 27 rule from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) that drastically alters federal contractors’ existing affirmative action and nondiscrimination obligations for individuals with disabilities.
