WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 29–Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today applauded the U.S. House of Representatives passage of legislation that would delay implementation of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division’s costly and burdensome final overtime rule. The bill, the Regulatory Relief for Small Businesses, Schools, and Nonprofits Act (H.R. 6094), passed the House with bipartisan support by a vote of 246-177 on Sept. 28.

WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 29— August not seasonally adjusted (NSA) construction unemployment rates improved in 48 states and the nation on a year-over-year basis, according to an analysis released today by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). The national NSA construction unemployment rate of 5.1 percent was 1 percent lower than a year ago, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), producing the lowest August construction unemployment rate on record. BLS data also showed that the industry employed 183,000 more people than in August 2015.

WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 20 – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and a coalition of business groups today filed suit against the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division’s costly and burdensome final overtime rule. The legal challenge was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
