PRINCETON, NJ & ARLINGTON, VA – TUESDAY, APRIL 17, 2012 The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), an international, non-profit professional association focused on construction financial professionals, and Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC), the national association representing merit shop construction and construction-related firms nationwide, today signed an agreement to jointly produce a comprehensive information technology survey for the construction industry. The survey is designed to be a tool that companies use to compare their use of technology with that of their peers to advantageously leverage their technology investments.

Washington, D.C. – In advance of the second anniversary of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) on March 23, Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) said the sweeping health care law fails to curb the cost of health care coverage and imposes new taxes, as well as costly and burdensome federal government mandates on businesses, including ABC members.

Washington, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today announced it received a $50,000 grant from the Atlanta-based Turner Foundation, Inc., founded by Ted Turner. This is the third consecutive year ABC has received this grant, which will be used to support the association’s green building initiatives with a focus on expanding its green certification and training programs.

Washington, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today announced it is running Internet and newspaper advertising in Ohio and Tennessee in advance of the March 6 “Super Tuesday” caucus and primaries. A 3/4-page newspaper ad supporting former Gov. Mitt Romney for president appeared in the Sunday, March 4, edition of The Columbus Dispatch. ABC’s Board of Directors endorsed Romney for president at its Feb. 23 meeting in Phoenix.

Phoenix, Ariz. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today endorsed Republican presidential candidate and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney to be the 45th president of the United States. The association’s endorsement of Romney came during the ABC National Board of Directors meeting in Phoenix.

Washington, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has named American Infrastructure, Worcester, Pa., its 2011 Contractor of the Year. American Infrastructure Chairman and CEO, A. Ross Myers, accepted the award on behalf of the company during ABC’s 22nd annual Excellence in Construction and National Safety Excellence Award program held Feb. 22 at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, Ariz.

Washington, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today commended the Indiana legislature for approving a new right-to-work bill that will protect all workers in the state from being forced to pay union dues as a requirement of employment. Once Gov. Mitch Daniels signs the bill, Indiana will become the 23rd state in the nation to enact a right-to-work law.
