WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 28– Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today released the following statement applauding President Trump for his Executive Order ordering the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to revise the controversial Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule, which had been previously been blocked under a nationwide stay issued by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 14—Construction input prices collectively rose by 1 percent on a monthly basis and 3.8 percent on a year-over-year basis, according to analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data released today by Associated Builders and Contractors. This represents the fastest year-over-year rate of materials price inflation since the beginning of 2012. Nonresidential input prices rose 0.9 percent for the month and are up 4 percent year over year.

WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 3—National construction employment started 2017 on a high note, adding 36,000 net new jobs on a seasonally adjusted basis in January, according to analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data released today by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). The 0.5 percent increase represents the best month for construction employment growth since March of 2016.

WASHINGTON, D.C. Feb. 2– Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today commended the U.S. House of Representatives for passing legislation (H. J. Res. 37) that will block implementation of the Obama administration’s Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Executive Order 13673, commonly referred to as “blacklisting,” through the Congressional Review Act (CRA).

WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 1—Nonresidential construction spending slipped 0.7 percent in the final month of 2016, but increased 4.6 percent over the previous year, according to analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data released today by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). Nonresidential spending decreased from $713.1 billion in November to $708.2 billion in December on a seasonally adjusted, annualized basis.
