In advance of a Sept. 13 U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee hearing titled, “Adding to Uncertainty: Small Business’ Perspectives on the Tax Cliff,” ABC called for immediate bipartisan action to avert the looming year-end tax increases.
Last week, the DOL issued a solicitation for construction services on its estimated $20 million to $50 million Job Corps Center in Manchester, N.H., without a discriminatory and costly PLA mandate or preference. The PLA removal was a victory for ABC, free enterprise, the Granite State’s taxpayers and contracting community.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has issued a survey requesting comments from the construction industry on the potential use of a PLA for the Millennium Construction Project in Arlington, Va.

A multi-industry letter, signed by 298 U.S. Chamber of Commerce affiliates, as well as national associations, has been sent to the members of the United States Congress and the President, urging immediate action to avoid further harm to the American economy.
