Registration is still open for the 2014 Workforce Development Conference being held April 29-May 2 in Birmingham, Ala. which will feature education sessions spanning six topics, keynote speakers, networking receptions and the National Craft Championships. ABC is now accepting volunteers to judge the 2014 National Craft Championships on May 1 in Birmingham, Ala. ABC members with recognized experience and expertise in a craft who are interested in participating should submit a judge’s form, found on the NCC website, to [email protected] indicating one of the 13 craft competitions they plan to judge.

Associated Builders and Contractor’s (ABC) 2014 Workforce Development Conference is now open for registration. The conference, held April 29-May 2 in Birmingham, Ala., features more than 40 sessions covering a range of topics from project management, safety, workforce development, productivity and association management. 

The deadline to submit an intent to compete form to take part in the 2014 National Craft Championships April 29-May 2 in Birmingham, Ala., is Friday, Jan. 10. ABC chapters and contractors can send their best craft trainees to compete in the competition to represent their company’s dedication to workforce development, their ABC chapter’s training and their hometown.

To ensure eligibility, ABC member companies and chapters should verify that their trainees meet certain requirements in order to send them to compete in the 2014 National Craft Championships.

At the 2013 National Craft Championships (NCC), Daniel Ary Sr. from Bakersfield, Calif., represented ABC member company TIC in the welding-pipe competition. During the competition, Ary displayed his passion for his craft and his passion for being a part of the construction industry is clearly demonstrated in the video below. By sending a craft trainee to compete in the 2014 NCC competition, ABC members can also showcase their talented and dedicated employees.

ABC May 3 recognized the winners in its 2013 National Craft Championships competition, held at the association’s 21st Century Workforce Development Conference, April 30 – May 3 in Birmingham, Ala. 

A new Facebook contest beginning Thursday, April 25 supports the 2013 National Craft Championships (NCC) competitors who are gearing up for the competition, which will be held April 30-May 2. The contest provides an opportunity to vote for one of the 13 crafts represented at the competition. To vote, visit the NCC Facebook page here. The winning craft will be announced at NCC Thursday, May 2.
