On Nov. 17, The Construction Users Roundtable announced the winners of its Construction Industry Safety Excellence Awards. The following ABC members received CURT awards based on their dedication to world-class safety performance.

Hourigan of Richmond, Virginia, a member of ABC’s Virginia Chapter, has been awarded Accredited Quality Contractor status by ABC. The AQC program recognizes and honors construction firms that document their commitment to excellence in five key areas of corporate responsibility: quality, safety, craft and management education, talent management and diversity and community relations.

ABC has announced the winners of the 2019 Association Excellence Awards, which annually recognizes chapter achievements in membership growth and retention, STEP participation and more. The CEO Award, which recognizes top performance in progress towards strategic goals and balanced scorecard metrics, went to the ABC Pelican Chapter.

David Allen Co. of Raleigh, North Carolina, a member of ABC’s Carolinas and Central Florida chapters, has been awarded Accredited Quality Contractor status by ABC.

ABC’s Top Performers lists—the only rankings of their kind—recognize member contractors’ achievements in safety, quality, diversity, project excellence and special designations, ranked by work hours. You must achieve STEP Gold or higher and earn the Accredited Quality Contractor designation to qualify—applications are due by Oct. 30 for consideration in the rankings.

Construction Executive has been named a regional Gold Azbee Award winner in the “best social media campaign” category for the magazine’s first annual CE Photo Contest.

Of the nation's top 20 construction companies, 18 are ABC members, according to Engineering News-Record's recently published annual list of the Top 400 Contractors. These successful contractors were ranked based on 2019 revenue.

Twenty-three students have won college scholarships worth between $5,000 and $40,000 in the second year of a national competition organized by the ACE Mentor Program, a free after-school program created by the integrated construction industry to attract students into pursuing industry-related careers.

Applications for ABC's Accredited Quality Contractor Program are being accepted now through Oct. 30.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans Employment and Training Service is accepting employer applications for the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Program Award, which recognizes employers for their efforts to recruit, employ and retain our nation’s veterans. In 2019, the program recognized 427 employers for their dedicated efforts to hire American veterans, including ABC member United Rentals. The deadline to apply is April 30.
