ABC member companies are full of talented, innovative and hardworking employees—many of whom are still in the early stages of their careers. As the future generation of business leaders and executives, young professionals in the construction industry are very important to ABC and its members. That is why ABC wants to honor them and recognize the leading young professionals in the association with the new Young Professional of the Year Award

Any person under the age of 40 at an ABC member company is eligible to be nominated and must be nominated by a peer, employer or supervisor, or ABC chapter staff by Sept. 4. The finalists will be given a free registration to the Young Professional Leadership Development Track Nov. 10-12 in San Diego, where the winner will be announcing during ABC’s Leadership Week. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize and will be highlighted in Construction Executive magazine.

As you're reading this, does a certain young professional in your company come to mind? You can nominate him or her today by completing the online nomination form at youngprofessionals.abc.org/nominate. All you have to do is enter the individual's name, complete some basic information, and provide a short 250-word explanation on why you are nominating this individual. Once nominated, the young professional will be given a short application to showcase his or her involvement in ABC and his or her leadership skills.

Remember, these young professionals are the ones who will continue the legacy of merit shop construction. Show them your appreciation and encourage them to be the leaders we need in the industry by nominating them for the award.
