ABC is hosting its first annual Diversity and Inclusion Summit June 22-23 in Washington, D.C. The summit will bring together industry leaders and key stakeholders who understand the value of supplier diversity in construction and who want to network and learn from other like-minded companies and individuals. The event, which is being held in conjunction with ABC’s Legislative Week, is free to the first 100 attendees.

During the summit, participants will hear from keynote speaker, Scott Vowels, who manages Apple’s Supplier Diversity Program and the author of “Don't Be Afraid to Call the Baby Ugly: How the Bigger Discussion Got an Industry Talking.”

The summit will kick off with a networking reception in the evening of June 22 and will be followed by the keynote speaker and three sessions on June 23.

Sessions include:

  • Over-deliver and Out-perform: How DuPont Turns Best Practices into Dollars with DuPont’s Global Director of Direct Materials and Services for Sourcing and Logistics, Craig Reed.
  • Understanding Differences: Diversity and the Large General Contractors, Owners and the Subcontractor with panelists Charles Eaton, Director of Corporate Supplier Diversity at Hensel Phelps, Patricia Bonilla, Owner and CEO of Lunacon Construction Group, and Carl Crowe, Vice President Walmart Construction.
  • Leveraging Creativity and Innovation in Creating Opportunities for Minority Business Enterprises with Johnson Control’s Vice President Supplier Diversity, Reginald Layton
