The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is requesting comments from the construction community addressing the potential use of project labor agreements (PLAs) on large-scale construction projects exceeding $25 million in New Jersey and Virginia.

In New Jersey, the USACE issued a survey for a large-scale federal Hurricane Sandy Cleanup project: Beach Rehabilitation, Barnegat Inlet to Little Egg Inlet. Responses are due Tuesday, Feb. 5 by 4 p.m. (ET) and may be emailed to Emily M. Sheaffer, [email protected].

In Virginia, the USACE issued a survey for phase II of a three phase project that requires the construction of one 300PN 5-story barracks addition to an existing 300PN 5-story barracks/COF Facility in Fort Lee, Va. Responses are due on Wednesday, Feb. 6 by 11 a.m. (ET) and may be emailed to Jennifer Majdeski, [email protected]

All ABC members and construction professionals are encouraged to respond to the request for information. Tell USACE that government-mandated PLAs harm competition, increase costs, and impede the economy and efficiency of government contracting.
