The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is requesting comments about the potential use of a government-mandated project labor agreement (PLA) on a large-scale federal project constructing dormitories and a conference center for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Harpers Ferry, W.Va. This is the second PLA survey issued by the USACE for this project. If you responded to the first survey, you should also respond to this one as your first response will not be considered. To read more about this project and respond to the survey, click here. All responses must be submitted to Kevin Cook at [email protected] by 1 p.m. EST on Thursday, May 9. All ABC members and construction professionals are encouraged to respond to the request for information. Tell USACE that government-mandated PLAs harm competition, increase costs, and impede the economy and efficiency of government contracting. For more information about government-mandated PLAs, go to www.thetruthaboutplas.com, Facebook.com/thetruthaboutplas and Twitter.com/truthaboutplas. For questions or more information, contact ABC National Director of Labor and Federal Procurement Ben Brubeck, [email protected].
