The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is asking for comments from the construction industry in response to two surveys on the potential use of a project labor agreement (PLA) for projects in New York, N.Y. and Radford, Va. The USACE New York District is asking that comments be submitted to Matthew Lubiak at [email protected] no later than June 10. To read more about the project and to respond to the survey, click here. Responses to the PLA survey for the design-build power plant project in Radford, Va. are due by noon on June 17 to Steve Slaby at [email protected]. All ABC members and construction professionals are encouraged to respond to the request for information and tell USACE that government-mandated PLAs harm competition, increase costs, and impede the economy and efficiency of government contracting. ABC National has taken the opportunity to respond to all PLA surveys as they are issued and encourages its members to do the same. For assistance with responding to the survey, contact ABC’s Director of Federal Procurement and Labor Affairs Ben Brubeck, [email protected]. For more information on PLAs, visit www.thetruthaboutplas.com, Facebook.com/thetruthaboutplas and Twitter.com/truthaboutplas.
